Since 1919, the Washington daily newspapers (variously, the Post, Evening Star, Daily News, and Times-Herald) selected the area's top basketball players in what came to be known as the All-Met teams. The tradition was maintained from 1970 through 2025 by the Washington Post; an independent group known as All Metropolitan.com has committed to continuing the selections in the wake of the Post ending sports coverage in January 2026.
Since 1932, 53 Georgetown players have been named to an All-Met team. Below is a list in chronological order of former and current Georgetown players designated on an All-Met team (exclusive of honorable mention selections). (Selections are based on the Post lists unless noted otherwise.)
